Insights into Matthew Perry's cause of demise disclosed in LA toxicology findings
Matthew Perry recently delved into the depths of ketamine treatments in his memoir almost a year preceding his departure.
Within his 2022 memoir titled "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing," the late actor articulated, "Ketamine held sway as a prevalent street drug during the 1980s. A synthetic variant has since emerged."
"The connection was undeniable — it might as well have borne my moniker, 'Matty,'" inscribed the Friends luminary.
As per the toxicology report released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on December 15, Perry's demise was attributed to "the immediate impact of ketamine."
The comprehensive autopsy findings indicated Perry's engagement in "ketamine therapy infusion sessions targeting depression and anxiety."
In his literary work, the departed actor conveyed the distressing sensation experienced during his ketamine sessions, remarking that he felt as if he were "grappling with mortality."
"There were moments I felt the imminent embrace of death within that hour. I pondered, 'Is this the threshold of passing?'" disclosed Perry.
Yet, he elucidated his continual choice to participate in these treatments.
"It offered an unconventional avenue, and any deviation from the norm held promise," he disclosed in his candid memoir.
Perry emphasized, "Engaging with K felt akin to a euphoric onslaught. However, the aftermath proved arduous, overshadowing its fleeting euphoria."
"Ketamine wasn't aligned with my essence," unequivocally declared the late actor within his memoir.
